Honest, humble, caring, interested. Many more ways to describe Dr. Gregory Shukhman but those come to mind first.
I first encountered him when our 10 year old bull terrier mix was limping and my husband and I had a pit in our stomachs. After taking him to a local vet nearby and hearing that he needed TPLO surgery "right now", we were in disbelief and did all of the research about torn CCLs. We went the path of no surgery and just calm, minimized activity for our 60 pound hound. Then he started hopping since the knee was shot. New to LA, we did not know who was reputable and who was just in it for the autograhed A-listers' photos they could hang in their lobby.
I was talking to a co-worker and she said to try Banfield. With nothing to lose, we did.
And, when Dr. Shukhman appeared and sat on the floor to examine our loverboy, we knew we hit the jackpot.
Fast forward one year after the successful left CCL surgery was done, the right was needed. Without a doubt, back to Dr. Shukhman. He questioned if it was a rush to surgery. I said no. Let's do it before it is as bad as the left had gotten. Done! Recovered!
And now.... My 12 year old bully walks on all 4s!
The good doctor comes once a month for adequan injections plus whatever is next. Can't wait to see the new rig! Vet care at home at my convenience with someone who I can trust with my dog's well-being.
Romeo loves Dr. Shukhman. I really think Romeo knows he walks due to the talent of Dr. Shukhman.
I just vetted your next vet!

BEST Vet experience, hands down! I've dreaded going to the vet every time throughout my two cats 11 years, because it's always a terrifying and stressful experience for them and for me. This time I searched on Yelp and came across Dr. Shukhman, and I'm soooo glad I did!
He arrived promptly at our scheduled time, and spent a good hour and a half with my 2 cats. A huge difference between the usual 5 minutes you might get with a Dr. at a vet clinic. He was gentle, thorough and knowledgeable. One of the best parts of the experience was being able to just carry my cats down from my apartment and into his mobile clinic, without putting them through the stress of car rides, sitting in a waiting room and being exposed to other pets and smells and sounds. And his prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of service he provides. I would've easily paid 1.5 times that at the VCA TLC Animal Hospital where I've taken the cats before him.
Kitties are happy, I am happy, and I'm definitely recommending Dr. Shukhman!

Just finished my appointment with Dr. Shukhman and my pet dog Sofie and the service was awesome! His vet mobile van is very cool and feels very professional. It's really convenient for him to be just a block down the street so I don't need to drive and look for parking in traffic. Although he may be priced a little higher than your normal vet visit, it's totally worth it 100%. He had just spent over 1.5 hrs with us for the full exam, vaccines, tests etc. which would never happen in a normal vet clinic bc they just don't have that kind of time. Unfortunately, my pup was tested positive for heartworm which made me very nervous, but Dr. Shukhman was very professional in explaining our options and what steps to take next. He was very thorough with everything, and even made calls to the lab to make sure he had enough blood for the necessary lab procedures so he didn't have to poke my Sofie anymore. All in all, I will definitely keep seeing this vet and totally recommend him to anyone who is in search of a great one. If you are a new patient, you get 20% off your visit and shots!

HANDS DOWN, Dr. Greg Shukhman is THE BEST. THE BEST vet ever. I used to go to the Banfield on La Cienega, where he used to practice. When I learned from him that he was leaving, initially inside I thought "NOOOO!!!!!" but I think he picked up that I was bummed that he was leaving, so he wrote his number on his Banfield business card, should I decide to leave Banfield and follow him. And in NO way was he trying to take people away from Banfield. NOT at all. That is not in his character. I told him, I DEFINITELY will be calling him. It was hard enough to get an appt with Dr. Shukhman at Banfield (because he is THAT popular and also he had other responsibilities while at Banfield). I left Banfield last fall, when I learned he had just left and called Dr. Shuhkman immediately to let him know I want him to continue to take care of Kaylie (my 6 year old Shih Tzu).
Dr. Greg is the most compassionate, caring, professional, very knowledgeable, humble, down-to-earth vet. Those qualities are very rare for a vet. Though it is his own practice/business, but he doesn't run it like a business to just make money. He genuinely cares for your pet and is very conscientious about keeping prices fair - seriously, he does.
Prior to tonight's appointment, Dr. Shukhman made house calls - so convenient! He came a few times, including one time to my work to give me some medication to help with a skin infection she had at the time. Right before he came to my work, he had called in my Kaylie's antibiotic prescription to my own local pharmacy, that is located at my work (I am a pediatric nurse at a local hospital). Talk about above and beyond service! Dr. Greg always calls to follow up after each visit, to make sure your pet is doing ok and answer any questions you might have. And even outside visits, he will call or text you to see how you and your pet are doing. Seriously, talk about above and beyond service! And tonight, Dr. Shukhman came in his new mobile vet clinic - it is very nice! My Kaylie had her annual dental cleaning tonight (under general anesthesia). What a little trooper! She did great, thanks to the caring and great hands of Dr. Greg and his caring and friendly assistant.
I cannot express enough how much I recommend Dr. Shukhman. You will NOT, I repeat, NOT regret choosing Dr. Shukhman for your pet's care. I am SO glad and thankful that Dr. Shukhman is my Kaylie's vet - for life! Kaylie seconds that: "woof, woof!" :)
